I think these engine photos should be classified as soft porn...why are engines soooo sexy????

Here's some more I had on file from mbgalerie.  More like official photos rather then rebuilt engines.  they make good references though.

In order from left to right then down.

- M110 carburetted, M116 d-jet
- M117 d-jet I think
- M100 k-jet.  (with 4-wire igniton lead holders)   Take note, they did exist even on a 6.9

If ever there is a worldwide w116 get together, surely that place has to be our mecca.

Nice 123 collection!
do your wagons have those bloody sunroofs which you manually have to pull!  come to think of it, did any of the wagons have electric roofs or was manual the only option?
mum used to have a 280TE, but i also like the 300TD  even if it does take 7-8 miinutes to hit 100!
best regards

No, mine dont have sunroofs, but i wish they did, i like them.

the 123 wagons only had manual sunroofs. as the mechanism to open the roof is in the boot of the sedans and the ropey pulley bits run up the c-pillar apparently benz couldnt work out how to get it to work in their first wagon.

the 124 wagons got electric sunroofs, but i dunno where they put the mechanism.

theyre great cars, you can have lots of space, or 7 seats, and they handle really well too. they can be found pretty cheap, dont let a seller charge you too much because the wagons are worth more or are rare or something. you shouldnt have to pay more than $5k for a good one. mine were $800 and $1500. theyre tough cheap workhorses that live on the street and get serviced at home.
