I'll take a hack saw next trip and get sawin'

It looks in good condition, but the entire exhaust is still attached but not hung on the car.

Jeez. So it looks like that rear part is bolted up through the floor. I'll check tomorrow.

Amazing to see it go from an abandoned wreck to something more with a little guidance. Good work and I look forward to more  ;D

Update coming. Worked on this thing for hours. My body is beaten.

Haven't read the entire thread but any chance it still has it's rubber buffers for the suspension?

Struts were pulled today. They are off to Germany.

Rubber buffers I assume you mean the suspension blocks? No. Didn't see them.

Got to the yard at 9am sharp, told the people in the office I needed a car lifted. They said go in the yard in wait. A man in a giant dozer with came rolling in with giant forks and lifted the car like it was a rag doll from the front. I threw a bunch of tires under it and I was off.

Pulled all four wheels and started with the fronts. Everything came out without much issue. Once I figured out all the bolt sizes, things went pretty smooth. God bless you guys who have to get this stuff off without damage to other stuff. I have to admit that the design on this setup was really good in terms of access. Then I moved to get the rear suspension valve. I just cut all the lines and unbolted it.

Lifted:

Fronts out. I had a nice place to sit thanks to a rear board from a W124 wagon.

All out.

With the wheels off and struts off. You can see the beefy winter tire that was on this thing.

Rear valve. Wonderful carpet to lay on.

So this rear tow bar. I started cranking on the rear bolts and the bolts just spun and spun. So whatever is other side needs held. Problem is, I can't find it. It looks the bolts go up under the gas tank. I pulled the junk from the trunk and you can see, there is no nut to grab onto. I'm stumped.

The nuts that hold on the tow bar are connected to bolts which go up into the plate on the trunk floor.

The tops of the bolts have hex key/Allen heads. You'd want to insert the hex key and rest it up against the fuel tank so it keeps the bolts from turning while you loosen the nuts below--that's if you want to mess with it.

Ahhhh. I get it now. Looks like those are some king of caps over the allen bolts? I tried pulling them but they didn't budge so I moved on.

It's possible they put rubber plugs over the bolt heads to keep them from rusting, but the heads may just have dirt on them. The fit into metal recesses that look a bit like plugs, so I'd make sure first before trying to pry them out.

All the parts I pulled off the thing are off to other homes to live on in other cars. There are a few things things I'd still like to get off this car (muffler, tow bar) but other than that, the only thing left is the euro motor. Good luck pulling that thing out in the middle of their field.

I dont know if anyone has ever needed one, but the valve on top of the 5th sphere may be a good part to get. I believe they are NLA.
