W140 S500L

I noticed this vehicle for sale and thought some of you might also like to see it. (I hope this is the right place to post this...)

It looks like a very nice example.

All the best.

she is a nice one, thats for sure.

Not so keen on the colour though

It's taken a while but some of these 70s colors are growing on me...

Would have to agree, it does look good on cars in really good nick.

I've seen quite a number of W116's (not in real life where I live obviously  ;)) with that colour, particularly 6.9's.

Must have appealed to quite a lot of people.

Brown, beautiful brown.

Fine bourbon, good gunstocks, great horses and the best damn hunting dogs are all naturally enhanced by generally sporting the color brown.  Ah, brown - the color that almost smells by itself... the richest and most admirable color for all things manly, musty and misunderstood by anyone with even a shred of feminine dna.

Seems that among the uncivilized other colors seem to be more popular - almost certainly due to their propensity for cars that match their undies.  Personally, I'm proud to say that the Only color that would ever match my drawers... is brown.

I'd get riled, but it would be a waste of good gunpowder to shoot the sissies.

John,

As usual, your way of seeing/describing things makes one almost feel it - just need to add brown corduroy jackets...

I, for one, have always liked the colour brown - in any shade.
I guess it is a reflection of my (hidden) boring, conservative side...!

As for Milan Brown - I wouldn't have a 6.9 in any other colour!

There is a pic of one such machine in the gallery - its parked underneath a carport facing the camera, sitting low with xtra wide tyres on 15" bundts. It has some middle Eastern reg.

Anyways, to me it looks like a crouching tiger - mean, scary and beautiful!

As are all things that are real.

That sir, is the best definition of art I've ever heard.  Mean, scary, beautiful.

A reflection of life.   Take risks.  Love people - fight incessantly for PEACE.

Live by your own choices for any reason that you can justify.  WHY is the only question.

"Rare and unmolested" but $25,000 spent on restoration - is that an oxymoron?

I don't mind the Milan Brown when in good condition.

Rare is good.  Unmolested probably means weak - immature, and not a nymphoerotic person or well loosened drivetrain.  Both effect performance from top to bottom.

mmmmmmmm   I like the molested ones that have been...  "fixed!"

;D

Holy cow I think it is.  You were looking for a pic of one on a w116 ages ago weren't you.  But yep, that's an original unmolested w126 wheel.  :D  BTW, I have heard before that the very last w116's had w126 wheels, but this one's 78 so.........hmmm.
