I have ordered Velour from Cabrio.de
They were recommended by mercedes benz classic in Germany,so I hope its going to be good. The samples looked ok.
For 5 m of plain and 3 m of ribbed velour and full carpet set I paid 1100 euro.

Good deal, is this enough to cover the door panels as well as the seat? I'm debating whether to switch to leather or stick with velour. The velour is about the same price, but my main concern is that if the upholsterer cocks it up. I'm going to have to skin him with a carrot peeler.
With best regards

I wonder how he went pulling the monster out with the bonnet still in place?

I wonder how he went pulling the monster out with the bonnet still in place?

I imagine he got it up as far as he could, snapped the picture, then proceeded to remove the springs and unclip the hinges.

I've been wondering about retrofitting newer MB hinges so that the hood can go 100% vertical without needing a person to hold it or otherwise secured like W123's and newer do.

Yeah, we never removed the bonnet when the motor came out of my 6.9, but it would be easier that's for sure.

Wow, if the attention to detail on the engine is any indication of what the final result will be, than it's one of the most impressive builds I have ever seen.

Hats off to you, Sir!

BTW, what is the new deadline?

Looks great. Amazing what a bit of paint , polish and plating can do.
