My jealousy is complete.  A 6.9 with manual AC and heat controls....  Wonderful.  Love the colors (colours) too!  Have you checked yet to see if you can source proper seat velour?

Get in there, Masakrer! It's great to have a W116 community in the South-East.

I have ordered Velour from Cabrio.de
They were recommended by mercedes benz classic in Germany,so I hope its going to be good. The samples looked ok.
For 5 m of plain and 3 m of ribbed velour and full carpet set I paid 1100 euro.

The timber looks nice in the pix but does it need a resto too??  From memory there's a link somewhere here to a company that does some top-shelf work for reasonable prices.  They might be based in the US though; I'll have to find the link...

And man this'll be a fun project to watch!  Keep the pics coming; yay!  It's great to see these cars being rescued by an owner that (finally) cares....

Samples form Cabrio.de

The difference I have noticed is that stripes width on ribbed velour is smaller than on my existing velour.
They explain to me that now is only one velour available for 116 and 126 so its sort of in between

Few parcels have arrived

Managed to get quite a lot from MB dealer but still some bits are missing.

At the moment I am on the hunt for:

New headlights and rear lights
Aluminium around windows -as I have got only bottom rear bit.
Front doors in good condition.

Thans in advance for any help.

Incredible group of new parts you have there! Thanks for helping to keep vintage Mercedes parts in business so they can continue to make them for the rest of us.

Yeah impressive selection of new goodies there, gets the heart racing just looking at them.

Good luck with it, keep sending more pics too.

Tried Mercman in Cornwall? Good selection of reclaimed W116 parts and next day delivery. They were the only ones to come up with a part that I had been looking for a long time and promised by a few on the forum as well. Phone 01736 757777 email parts@mercman.net

Are those 5m / 3m (running I assume) enough to fully restore both front seats, the back bench, all four headrests and door panels?
Following your tip about cabrio.de I finally have a source of moss green velour for my 450. Just got my samples today and they look the part.

That's really cool! I don't even want to know what all those lovely looking new MB parts cost though! Can't wait to see the car when it's all finished.

Glad to see the car has clearly gone to a good home where its being treated like the epic classic that it is!
