Just received latest edition of The Star, they note in the minutes of the national meeting that plans are under way to make EPC available free to any active club member.

Mighty generous of them.....Maybe the realized that the people using it tend to order lots of parts?

It still is free for members of officially recognised MB clubs. The only change was that Daimler shutdown the old EPC, and moved everyone to the Xentry system used by dealerships. However, WIS access was removed in the process, and we were told it ain't coming back.

The whole migration was a massive failure, they never anticipated the scale of club use.
It took months for people to regain access. Some still haven't, and it's been well over a year.

It's not much different than the old EPC, however has the big advantage of running natively in a web browser on any capable operating system.

Edit: The minutes were of the MBCA national meeting and they were discussing what transpired at the Mercedes Clubs  International Presidents meeting.

They did say that they were unclear if the free to MB clubs would extend to MBCA members.

The 80 MB clubs around the world don't include anything in the USA.

There is at least one "EPC" site hosted by a 3rd party currently which is quite useful.

Apparently the new system doesn't support some older vehicles, or at least that's what the local dealer told me when I went to order parts for my W109.

Yeah, they lied...

The list of chassis codes starts at C100, and goes all the way up to the latest ones. I've loaded the catalogue for C109, and it has plenty of parts groups, drawings, the usual.

For some reason they use C as chassis number prefix for all models.

Oh, sure! NOW they make it free to MBCA members right after letting my 12th year in the club lapse because I wasn't getting my money's worth.
