Server problem ?
« on: 08 October 2007, 11:57 PM »
Seems very slow at the moment, with a lot of time out errors (page not responding). Is there an issue ?

Not from where I am sitting, for the last few minutes anyway. Doesn't mean that there weren't any issues. :-\

Turk Telekom are having some wage dispute issues and are talking about a strike this week, so maybe they are the cause. It;s fine one minute, crap the next and takes 5 or 6 refreshes to bring up the page.

I believe this site is served from a top tier host based in the USA. There are too many links between most of us and the server to diagnose small, short term problems but it is very, very, very rare for the server to be down (there were problems in the past which have been resolved).

There have been the occasional time when Admin has caused some problems too. He does have a day job to attend which does distract him from his duties here.

How irresponsible ! Surely we are more important than any day job !

I just had a few timeout messages when trying to make a post,

refreshing a few times seems to have corrected the problem

page loading seems to be working ok though.

Ahem, well I'm on dial-up...but I've only had one time-out. After that it's been pretty good.

But then again, if the forum slows down I probably wouldn't notice... ::)
