I reckon the registration security process needs to be strengthened - this bs is happening far too regularly these days.

Take a look at the stats page, an impossible numbers of new members in the last three months, there'll be more spam.

Hi all,

I logged in this morning to find a new look page layout.  Does this mean our security has been increased too to deter the marauding?  What I also noticed, is that the 116 logo is now very tiny, what a pity!  Not sure I like the changes, but given some time, I suppose it'll look 'normal'.

Thank you admin, I will trust your judgement, but ask if you can consider this request.

At the moment, the front page of the forum has almost half of its vertical space allotted to the logo, slogan, personalised welcome, search bar, shortcuts etc.  This results in one having to scroll down to see all 7 of the main boards.  Is it possible to reposition the stuff at the top a bit so as to use a bit less real-estate?

I agree with you sclass but I also just found an interesting feature that I'm not sure will work on every screen size or resolution but does for mine.  On the home page click on the little arrow circled in red top right corner shown below and your avatar and search box disappears revealing all the boards.




Calvin, interesting link though the page doesn't come up as I remember it thanks to some formatting and missing links to images issues perhaps. (I had to click the "impatient?" link to make it work).

I agree with koan, as I'm sure I was one of the whingers during the last change, but got used to things fairly quickly.  So this next bit may be riveting, a flashback, or complete useless info, but - the very original as I recall from 2004 had a black background and white text.  I never kept a screen shot as I just discovered this place and it may have changed in 2005 not long after I joined.  But here's a couple of incarnations I copied during a how-to-use-the-gallery thread. (Hence the additional yellow writing).  It just happens to show a before and after version of the forum in 2007 sometime.  To be honest, I've already forgotten how the site looked a few days ago  not the same as the second screen shot below was it?     It's like trying to remember what your watch looks like if you had to draw a picture of it without looking.
