Xmas shopping completed: 5 new hydropneumatic spheres etc

I've blown 1000 euros and bought myself 5 new hydro-pneumatic suspension sphere, replacement boot rubber and a new hood/bonnet pad. The stuff's on the way from Niemoeller in Germany. That's my biggest spend on the 6.9 yet. A repaint will be next, that'll cost some!

Anyway, from those that have done this job on a diy basis without lifts or special tools: can you please advise me on how to prepare for the transplant? I've got some manuals on CD so I'll be reading those up too. What I am looking for are hints and tips from people's experiences.

Cheers,
Adam

Any work on the supension ends up an oily job, I took the supension tank out to paint it, filled it with fresh fluid then tried to expel the old stuff from the lines, what a mess, fluid everywhere.

Just be careful undoing the connections, even in the maintenace position pressure can be locked in the struts and spheres.

If the joints refuse to budge, give them a few taps with a hammer while holding something solid behind them, this usually frees them up.

styria disagrees but I don't think there is any need to bleed the suspension after working on it, any trapped air will be expelled after a few bumps.

(the pump - regulator line will need to be bled if it is ever removed or if the pump sucks air)
