wiper relay/switch issue

Hi team,

yesterday my wipers started to misbehave.  Suddenly both the intermittent and slow wiper functions don't work.  The fast does.  However when you turn to "off" the wipers do not park.

So it it either the switch or the relay.

Any clues before I dive into this? I know there are four relays on the right inner wheel well and one under the steering wheel, but I have no idea which one does what.  Aussie 1979 280sel.

I have found a US supplier of new switch assemblies, but no luck on the relays.  So any supply clues would also be appreciated.

Hoping you can save me a bad back from twisting under the dash.

Thanks

The intermittent wiper relay is behind the fuel/oil/temperature gauge. I pulled out the instrument binnacle to change it: I don't know if it can be accessed from under the dash. I think this relay is for intermittent and slow wiper operation but only my intermittent was faulty.

Thanks so much.  You have saved me hours of detective work.  I will start the exploration there.

I've replaced the intermittent relay on my RHD 6.9. I accessed from under the dash by removing the required panels. Not sure if that relay also controls slow/fast functions but I wouldn't be surprised if it is related. On my 1977 model the original box was silver. Unless my memory is failing me, I recall that the replacement from a later donor was black. Either way you can determine which box it is by operating the intermittent wipe. You'll hear clicking and if you place your fingers around the box you may sense the relay.

Hello is the named "interval wiper electronics" in electrical diagrams. I am speaking a bout a w116.028 350SE from 1973.
I thought it was joined with wiper motor. It would be good to know in order to save timing removing parts.

Regards.
