Will a 280s automatic transmission fit on a 280se

Hello, i am not a native English speaker. So sorry in advance for any mistakes.

I am since 2 weeks the Proud owner of a w116 280SE from 1974. I bought it with a leaking transmission. And let new seals be put in. But it still leaks after placing new seals.

Now have i found a transmission from a 280s for quite cheap. And i was wondering if it would fit on my 280SE?  And would it function normally?

The transmission codes are different tho
280S: 722.111
280SE: 722.112

Hi and welcome  ,

The answer is yes. It fits. Did you replace them all or just the input and output shaft seals? Where are the leak points now? Are you sure the other one is better?
