Wheel question...

Hey guys. I have a wheel question.

I'm looking at ways to fix my inaccurate speedo (still need to get the larger tires) but wondered, did Mercedes produce larger steelies with the hubbies?

I'm not a fan of Bundts, I think they're dirt ugly (puts flame suit on).

The current setup is stock 14s with the hubbies. Did they by any chance produce 15s with hubbies? IIRC I think they did for the R107. Any verification on this?

i thought that the later W126 series after 1985 have 15 inch with hubbies  but i am not 100% sure

15" steelies of a suitable offset were installed on some variants of W114, W115, W123.

Generally, it was the LWB versions of the above, or cars equipped with 'tropical' pack, or some oddities like the W115 240D3.0

So they do exist, but will be realy hard to come by as not many cars had them.

15" steelies were common on W201/W124/W202, but these ones are not suitable because they had a much larger offset.  I'm not sure if the facelift W126 steelies have the right offset or not - at least these will be common in breaker's yards.

The proper look colour-coded metal hub caps needed on the W116 will only come off those above mentioned W114/W115/W123 oddities.
