Title: V8 flexdisk confusion?
Post by: daantjie on 20 December 2019, 11:41 AM
Hi guys

Maybe this falls under the "much of a muchness" category...

I bought a genuine flex disk set off ebay a while ago, part # 126 410 0415, which is what the 6.9 calls for.  But on the part itself it says 126 411 0215, hmmm...I did some googling and I see this "new" number as the one which you get when you order 126 410 0415.  I know there has been some banter on flex disks, and I am too lazy to dig up old posts ;D

Check out this one for sale for example:

I am pretty sure "all" W116 and W126 as well as R107 V8's use the same disk, right?

The short answer to your post is:

-No, not all W116, W126, and R107 use the same flex discs.  The 6 cylinder and diesel versions use different ones.

The flex disc itself is available separately, and is also available in a "kit" that includes all new hardware.  Therefore, there are two different part numbers.  That's not to say that the part number(s) didn't change over the years....because they did.
