Hello I just joined this week, I picked up a 1977 (registration says 1979) 300SD in Canada. I live in Manitoba but the car was purchased in British Columbia and shipped last week.
This seems like a stupid question but I am troubleshooting lights, relays electrics etc. There are factory clear lens lights below the bumper on the NA models. When are those supposed to turn on? How are they activated? These models had the round headlights, outside are brights/dims, inside are yellow but the ones in question are below the bumper.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can answer this basic question.

Welcome to a fellow Canadian ;D
Once you switch the headlights on (2 clicks to the right) then pull out the knob once, that turns on front fog lamps. 2nd click out turns on rear fogs, if fitted.
Wow, that was a quick reply, I like this forum!
I will run out and give that a try right now, I had no idea that switch had that function.
Greatly appreciated....Now if I can only fix the glowplugs and the ACC (I know I know, those are not as easy to fix)

Both lights came on, thanks again.
That's the extra service of this forum: some guy is always lurking to let there be light asap 8).
Nice color on your car.
