And the alloy housing is lighter....  The 560 twin has uneven size snorkles which would compromise flow a little, but it may ease installation on a 6.9 due to the starter cable issues.  I believe a LHD 560 had a larger snorkle on the RHS and if that was combined with an Aussie housing with a large one on the LHS, flow would be greatly improved.  But installation on a car would be difficult.  I've seen pics of this mod on another car.  The 560s also had cold air intake standard and I'm sure that combined with the high under bonnet temps of a 6.9, plus the hot Aussie climate I'm sure cold(er) air would be a huge advantage

Great topic!  One more thing co consider if youre getting an LS engine try to get a tranny with it as a package deal=cheaper.  A late model 4 speed electronic tranny is super with better fuel economy but is rather large and you would have to enlarge the transmission tunnel.  My two cents let us know what you decide.  Best regards

So what if there's other resources out there, better or worse?  It would be nice if you still shared your progress periodically here.  I like your enthusiasm for your project and enjoy seeing/hearing about progress.

Well that's very sad news....  I think some need to think about how their comments can affect others.   And now we've lost an interesting project and a fellow member.  W116 owners don't grow on trees and we should be encouraging every single one, irrespective of their likes and dislikes.  I must say I'm pretty disappointed.  :( :'(

What steps are being taken to lower the compression ratio? 7.5:1  to 8:1 is optimum. 9:1 and higher is too much.

Now that'd be awesome.  8)

My goal is for the M110 to be faster than my other car.  See the twin K Jet?
