Trigger point question

My D-Jet M110 has trigger points.
Never been changed.
Car runs extremely well but has a slight "miss" every now and then at cruising speed. Its been doing that for years & years. Something I've become used to.

Question: Should I be looking into my trigger points or leave well enough alone. I believe they are impossible to get.

I've seen a few videos of people taking them out to clean them. But if it generally runs well it could probably be left alone.

Each set of the 4 points sets had their own phenolic rubbing block.....just like a set of ignition points have.  And yes, they do wear, and the dwell changes.  They're a regular service item, and are supposed to be checked/cleaned/lubricated (with correct point cam grease) or replaced every 60,000-70,000 miles.  These are very often overlooked and forgotten about, much like services on timing chains/rails and greasing the front axle at 3,000 mile intervals.

Regarding availability, the assemblies themselves are no longer available, but the last I heard Mercedes and Bosch were offering a repair kit, where you rivet and solder in new points and clear plastic covers on to the old original assembly.  They were around $600-$700 USD for the kit, (probably $1,500 AUS).  However, I think Mercedes ran out of stock, and Bosch Classic has them, but they no longer ship out of Europe for some reason.  So yeah, we're kind of screwed.  I guess the next best thing is to have a few spares on hand?
