Timing chain sprocket in block - very stuck!

I'm trying to get the timing chain idler sprocket pin out of the block and having a helluva time.  I refer to the large sprocket in the block between the heads.  I've tried a slide hammer and that pin removal tool that works so well with the other chain guide pins.  No good.  I'm afraa I'm going to break something.  Next step would be one of those tripod design pullers, which I don't have.  Any tricks or other ideas?  Thanks,

[EDIT:  IGNORE POST!  i DISCOVERED THAT I HAVE SUCH A PULLER AND DIDN'T KNOW IT.  SOORY!]

That's greatly appreciated.  Never before has so much help been given by so many for so few!   ;)

As for the actual problem, I eventually realized that the puller pin is bedded into a larger plug about 8cm.  That whole plug is what's getting pulled out.  Pulling the pin with the legs of the puller on the plug ain't gonna work.   :o

Now I need to fashion a brace to prevent my lousy 2-legged puller from twisting.
