Tie rod end boots

The boots on a couple of my tie rod ends are slightly cracked.  Someplace I found replacement boot kits for not too much $$$.  Is there any reason not to replace the boots if the innards are still tight and clean?

And then, if I do, will I need an alignment?  Seems like just popping the ends off and reinstalling wouldn't upset the geometry.  Comments welcome, thanks!

I've done this before. Just make sure you clean out any contaminants, and adding grease would be a good idea. It won't affect the alignment at all.
