Maybe this should be on >parts< forum but it's as much about the "how." I got a Timevalve stainless exhaust that replaced the original which had the chrome tips. What a fine classic look it was! I want it back.
I assume that straight to installation just entails cutting off the curved tailpipe section, jamming the new tips on and affixing them. So what's best way to cut off the curved part? Any reason not to just use a sawsall with new metal blade? I do know that the tailpipe is surprisingly tough and if anticipated a lot of vibration.
Obviously recommendations for the chrome tips would be welcome. Thanks and cheers,
The 6.9 never had chrome exhaust tips. You'll have to heavily modify the current exhaust system in order to achieve your vison.
Hmmm, I thought they were on the euro version, just not USA cause of heating up the diving board US bumper. I guess the ones on my car were an add-on. Can you elaborate on what's needed other than just cutting off curved ends?
I had the false tips on my 6.9 when I bought it but I'm pretty sure they are after production add ons like Aaron stated.
I look forward to worrying about problems like this some day. Right now I just want to make the car run and drive!
