No unfortunately Craig.  I just checked the Maintenance Booklet as well but no hint of the manufacturer.

Hey oscar, could you specify wat the markings mean for the 280S, what speeds are represented by each marking. Thanks

oscar

Ferdi', my understanding from the owners manual is:

the change limits For the 280S are:
1st gear = 42km/hr - 26mph
2nd gear = 88km/hr - 55mph
3rd gear = 145km/hr - 90mph
and top speed is supposed to be 185km/h - 115mph

I will have to read my 280S markings to see if they correspond to I, II and III on the speedo.  After rereading my other post with the thumbnails, it says the "I" mark is only relevant for manual transmissions on all 280 and 350 versions.  So I'm not sure now if the "I" mark is applicable at all for 1st gear in 280 and 350 autos.  I'll get back to you tomorrow.

Oh shoot. I forgot :-[ I've just come back from the shed after working on a sewage trench (long story) and I forgot to look at the speedo and take pics.  Later on today (about 5hours from now) if I get a chance I'll go back and I'll also take photos of the throttle linkage for you. ;)

From what I understand, "I" is ONLY applicable for the 280 models for 1st gear. Definately not for the auto 350. But I'm pretty sure "I" is about right for 1st in a 280 auto. :)

Ferdinand, sorry it took a while to get the photos.  Here's my 280S speedo and the links to my accelerator linkage are below that.  Hope they help

Although I've got a Holley carb, the linkage is all original upto the bottom of the carburettor where the white plastic connector in the bottom left of the first picture is.
