RHD late 6.9 What’s missing??

Help 🤷🏼‍♂️ what’s missing??
Mercedes 1980 w116 450SEL 6.9
RHD UK CAR

Usually the location for the cruise Controlle unit but this car did not have the CC Option when new and no stalk 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Is there someone out there with a RHD 6.9?

Yes, that’s where the cruise control unit goes. Maybe an alarm loudspeaker was mounted there instead?

Yep..that's where the cruise control went...the fact you have no switch on the column stalk only means that was removed too. You will probably find the 5  socket connector affixed above the brake pedal is still there -altho the male pin that plugs into it is long gone as part of the CC switch /loom assy..

Nor is there any clue that it been removed from the column??

 ON RHD, the combo wiper column stalk switch is adjacent the driver's door side.  Integrated into that switch is a second wand type switch for CC.
I am suggesting it has been removed..it is only held on to the main switch body with 2 scews and has it's own indepenedent little loom which sneaks down the inside of the steering column cover and terminates at a 5/7 pin socket under the dash.
