Almost finished the resto on the Blue 6.9, have been taking it out for short trips to sort things out after a long hibernation in the shed
on my last drive I noticed the front brakes squealing and no amount of hard braking made any difference.
I had some spare caliper kits on the shelf so today I decided to have a go at the job.  some photos may help others with theirs.

Excellent work there Rob,

Those calipers look to be in very good condition compared to what I've been looking at recently, which is good to see.

yes I was happy to see how well the pistons cleaned up, the bores had some brown scale that clean off with a nylon brush and metho.  just do remember not to use petroleum based products to clean as this would damage the rubber seals.  the instructions recommend to use mentholated spirits.
Also when I removed the pistons I noticed one of them was incorrectly fitted. If you look at the second last photo you can see the bearing surface of the piston has a raised horsehoe shaped ridge this has to be orientated in a certain position based on the rotation of the brake disc.
this may have been the reason the brakes were squealing.

Hi Rob

Looks good, I might take mine off and clean them up.
