Removing injectors and fuel rail method and tips??

Hey guys, I'm looking to to refurb the whole fuel system from the fuel pump to the injectors.

I know I have a problem with injector 3, the spark plug always looks a bit sooty and has a smell of petrol. Almost like it's giving out too much fuel and leaking.

Is there a method to removing the injectors and fuel rail without removing the intake manifold, are there any special tools needed??

Also what should I replace on the injectors?? Just the seals and o-rings plus a good clean??

The motor in question is 280se M110 d-jet.

Thanks,
Neil.

Just ordered all the parts to do the exact same thing, same vehicle as well.

I already pulled the injectors out, very easy, carefully crack the lines off. Then unbolt the metal plate that holds the injectors down, then simply pop them out with a screwdriver. I also have my fuel distributor off and this might have provided a little more room. Took maybe 20 minuets.

If your already doing the job, new seals and rings will help you sleep at night. a few bucks for piece of mind, is worth. If the o rings and no longer flexible, and are shaped to the injector they are no longer doing the job. Replace them.

You *may* need to take the intake manifold off to access your warm up regulator if you plan on having it refurbished. I know you can get it off from the top side of the vehicle, a bit tricky but it can be done. As I found out the other day from UTn_boy the manifold part number is 110-141-13-80. Its 12 or so. Soak those studs in wd-40 before you try to open them up, a warm engine could also help.

Cheers for the info, I'll get on with ordering up some seals etc.

I did see a write up regarding cleaning/refurbish the warm up regular, I must dig that up before I start.
Did you have have a crack at it yourself or send it off?

Neil.

Just been searching some eBay venders for injector replacement parts. Is there anything in pertaining I should replace???
Obviously I'm doing the plastic seal with    o-ring and the injector holder. (D-jet injectors)

Thanks,
Neil.

Hmmm I have a k-Jet I missed that in your original thread

For my warm up regulator and fuel distributor the gentlemen at http://www.cisflowtech.com/ handled it all for me. A+ only begins to describe the service I received. Small 3 bay shop, but then have rebuilding these system down to a T. I'n a post to come I'll detail out why this is such a phenomenal shop. They might ship out to Australia if you have no quality rebuilds out by you. These guys had about a 100 cores out the cahzoo. I think it was 250usd or so?

It should be just the two seals. I have never seen a d-jet before, but if you can find the part numbers, get all the seals to accompany it.
