Power Steering Pump

I'm having issues sourcing a power steering pump (1164602780) for a 450 engine (11798622046091).
I am seeing several pumps that match - a Vickers Type 28, 82 Bar - but mine has a double pulley wheel attached and all the ones i have seen have a single wheel.

Can anyone shed any light on either where I'm going wrong or where i can source the correct type?

You should be able to swap the pulleys from your old one.

You'l have to be more specific.  The early and late M-116 and M-117 use two completely different styles of power steering pumps.  Granted, Daniel brings up a valid point about being able to swap pulleys.  Though, you'll have to possess the proper puller or know how to safely remove the pulley without the puller.  The pulleys bend easily, so be careful. 

However, given that you make reference to a 117.986 engine I'm going to assume that you have a late M-117 4.5 liter with K-Jetronic.  If that is the case, then the following applies: Opening pressure of pressure relief valve is at 82 bar, housing to be cast iron, and two part numbers were available.  116-460-18-80 and 116-460-21-80. 

At some point in 1979-1981 Mercedes discontinued use of the Vickers  and started using ZF pumps.  Consequently, when a new pump was ordered for a W116 you would get a ZF pump, which has an all aluminum housing.  Part numbers 126-460-16-80 and 126-460-14-80, both of which should be a direct replacement. 

Regarding the single and double groove pulleys, the inline 6 cylinder M-110 engines used the same pumps as the M-117 did, but had a single groove pulley.  So if you find one from a 280S, 280SE, or 280SEL then the pump should be the same.....but only if it's for a post 1975 six cylinder, as the early ones used an early Viskers pump.

If your inneed of a 450SEL steering pump I have one with 150k miles. 5$ and postage and its all yours.
