Title: Pics! Ebay 450SE/Arizona is staying with original owner. Needs help....
Post by: John Hubertz on 06 February 2006, 07:50 PM
I've been communicating with the fellow in Arizona who has that very nice 90K 1977 450SE that he had originally mis-advertised on ebay as a 6.9.

He has appreciated the forum information I've shared and the technical infomation from the home page - and he and his elderly Mother have decided to return the car to fully operational condition and keep it to drive and enjoy.  Unaware of the issues these cars have when stored, the two years since it was driven last have created a no-start condition.  The eBay listing was withdrawn and he should be on the forum soon as I've sent him the links.

The car is a European-Specification 450SE, 90K miles.

The car was stored for 6 years, then started and driven 45 miles, and now after two years it will not start but runs perfectly if he dribbles fuel into the air intake.  Two years ago he drained the tank and installed a new fuel pump, but now it will not run, even after a few minutes of feeding fuel by hand.

When it last ran, he says it was a phenomenal car to drive.  Must be something because he
builds jet boats for a living.

Let me know what variables are likely re cold start problems.  I'll pass them on to Mike....
Thanks!
