Need help identifying attachment piece on shift linkage assembly 1980 300SD

I've searched the 30-300 Assembling Shift Lingages document in the OM617 service manual but I can't seem to locate exactly what I'm looking for.

http://handbook.w116.org/Engine/617/30-300.pdf

I adjusted my valves yesterday and when putting the shift linkages back together realized that some sort of push rod (not sure of the actual name) is not staying where it should. I must be missing some sort of attachment clip but I don't remember seeing it during dissasembly. Will someone please help me identify what piece this is so I can order a new one or perhaps teach me a trick that will help it stay put together as it should? The car will not shift properly at all with it in this condition.

Thank you in advance.

On second examination maybe it's a plastic bushing I need? But what kind? Was reviewing the 30-300 manual page 13 and saw these:

The missing bushing is labeled as item 17 in the drawing.

Attached is a photo of the black plastic bushing as installed on 'Desert Rose'

Thank you! Do you know how I can find out the part number?

It tried to find it in my copy of EPC, but no dice.

Contact the classic center:  https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/enthusiast/classic_center
They should be able to look it up and get you  the MB part number.

If you can't source one, I may have a spare.
