Looks like a merit plug with a cigarette lighter adapter (red bit).

Google merit plug. It's basically a 12V plug, very similar to the car cigarette socket but smaller and makes a more solid connection.

Still, I am sure I've seen this thing 5 years ago, but for the love of me, I can't remember where, and what for. I remember it being important, for some option or accessory.
This type of thing drives me mad, haha!

Naturally, I did that, but it leads me no further in my quest. :)
I have seen this part, as a part of a vintage MB accessory. That's the locked memory that frustrates me . Maybe a vintage car vacuum machine?
I'm gonna find out one of these days.
Still, good to know that there's nothing special about this adapter.

Edit. that one is a new style, the made old ones in the bakelight material.
