M117 E45

Looking at the new MB Parts Info I noticed that they include E45 describing all 450s fitted to the 116. I thought this referred to the alloy version developed for the 126.

Yeah, there's some funky stuff going on in the new ISPPI.  It doesnt recognize my older VINs, just displays the generic version of parts.

"E45" is the internal designation of the M117 4.5 litre engine used in the W116.  It appears in some of their documents, but there seems to be no consistency around it's use. The spare parts portal available via the official Club Lounge is one of the places where it's used.
