M110: advice before tensioner replacement?

Anything particular to look for?  I know it's a ratcheting type, I know there is an access hole through the AC comp bracket, tensioner kit will be in Monday.  Special procedure for setting on install?  I looked through the service library and did not see much about it, or I missed it.
Thanks..

I don't know what year/market or model your 280 is but there is an in depth description of removal and fitting as well as the two different types used in the workshop manual here.

M110 timing chain removal and refit

I wouldn't try replacing it without reading it first.

I found thbe 05-310 .pdf last night finally, I'd missed it the first time around somehow.
It still isn't tremondously clear, but I guess that's pretty normal.  Hopefully it'll make more sense with it in front of me.

Edit:  My Febi/Bilstein tensioner came in, looks like the "2nd type" in the Mercedes document.  It reads like one can exclude the check balls and such for the newer type.  I hope.
