Kick-down switch

I had removed the carpet from the drivers floor to do some cleaning and checked out the kick-down switch while there.

I got to thinking about how my carpet does not have a hole for where the pedal would make contact with the switch and wondered if it is right that the pedal would need to actually press through the carpet. It just seemed illogical.

Is this the same for everyone else?

Thanks,
Mike.

Thanks for your help. I'll look at my carpets again soon and work on that hole if necessary.

Hey there Mike,
For the rcord my 350se has a round hole where that switch is.  Original carpets were water damaged and buried, replacements are from a 280s however the moulds are the same and the hole is there, looks neat and round, doubt if someone else did it as an afterthought.

BTW, had no idea the kickdown switch was there. Thanks.
