Installing Front Brake Pad Sensors

I got new front pads and new wear sensors.  My shop replaced the pads the last time and it looks like they didn't get the wear sensors in correctly.  They aren't in the grooves.  A question.  The sensor installed on the pad extends way beyond the pad surface.  The pad is a snug fit so I can't figure out how the sensor can fit in there.  Do I trim the sensor back?  Thanks in advance.

You probably have the sensor 90 degrees off. It easy to insert wrong. The sensor pin goes in a hole on edge of the pad.

Thanks a ton.  This forum is the best.

The U cut out in the pad fits perfectly with the sensor installed 90 degrees off.
