Hey team, I'm going to pull the injectors in my 280se (d-jet) and replacing the seats and o-ring.
Problem is I can't find them for sale anywhere. The only ones are on eBay in the USA and state they fit w116, w124 & w126
Obviously that means the parts listed are for k-jet injectors.
Now my question is what physical differences are there in d-jet and k-jet injectors, are the seats and seals interchangeable??
Thanks,
Neil.
The injector seals between D-Jetronic and K-Jetronic are not the same and will not interchange.
The injector seals for your D-Jetronic 280se are still available new from Mercedes for around 1.61 Euros each. Can you not just go to a local dealership or parts specialist and order them? They're really inexpensive and readily available. Part number 116-078-04-73. Also, the aforementioned seal is the only seal there is. There is no o-ring. The big think rubber ring that is on the injector is nothing more than a cushion for the metal bracket that holes the injector down. It has nothing to do with sealing.
Aaahhh I've been looking at k-jet parts then lol.
Cheers for the info, it actually makes sense now.
Neil.
Yes it makes sense now !!! Thankx .......I was very confused........
What is the torque ?
From memory it's only 10NM for the K Jet hold down clamps.

Thank-you very much, saves me valuable time looking for this spec.......
What is torque?
On a D-Jet (280se) this is what happens to the hold down clamp when you don't use the correct pressure to tighten it.
Its cast, so it snaps in 2 just like a "cheese cracker".
Now I have learnt my lesson and if I ever do it again, I will use the proper tool with the recommended pressure.
Oh and I have purchased 3 extra hold down clamps "just in case".
Thank-you mrkozzy :)
This will give me more incentive to properly torque the screws if I get impatient ; as I often do........ ::)
