How do these come off? On my 124 they have a clip that holds them to the wing/fender, but I can't see a similar design on the 116- are they screwed on to the main headlamp unit?

cheers.

Hi,
No, they are not attached to the headlamp.
On the inner guard area, behind the indicator, there is a large round plastic nut. Undo this and with a bit of gentle persuasion you can remove the assembly from the guard.

As Bandolero writes, get that big nut off. Then push/pull the unit forward, as there is a slide fitting securing the unit to the edge of the headlamp fitting.

Oops!!!....You're right. I forgot about that clip. I was still asleep this morning when I replied.
I'm awake now!!!...I think.
When you replace the lens unit back onto the car, don't bang it too hard with your hand as you will crack the lens.
Yes, I did it!!!

Hi Styria,
No, haven't got the car back yet. I guess they're doing their "bread & butter" cars and leaving mine till last.
I don't mind so long as it doesn't cost me too much.
Will let you (and everyone) know the outcome and the cost... :'(
