Hi,
I'm using my 1979 280se 2 to 3 times a week. I've had it since April and prior to that it had only covered an average of 300 miles per year for the last 10 years, so I'm expecting a few niggles to appear! Touch wood after a couple of services mechanically everything is fine. One of the small issues that's happened is I now have to hold the control stalk in place for both left and right indication, or it just springs back to central position. It's not the end of the world, but wondering if anyone knows if this is an easy fix or whether I need a new stalk at some point? Any advice greatly received as I am a newbie with no mechanical experience! Thank you!

These are not really a serviceable gadget. Any broken spring or worn cam is basically unobtainable. When these devices start to play up its time to buy a new one.
There is no shortage of RHS indicator stalks on the market.

Ditto to Randy01 response.
Just get a complete replacement unit and change it over.
Even if you could fix the worn part internally, another worn part would soon surface.
Once they are gone.............they are gone
