Idle Valve Maintenance

Recently when I was working on converting my 280SE M110 from D-jet to MS, I had problem with Erratic Idling....at times, I needed to rev-up the engine a few times before the idling would settle down....at times, the idling dropped so low that the engine stalled, thus requiring frequent idle adjustments.

I removed the idle adjustment screw(with a spring seated inside between the valve body and the adjustment screw).

I sprayed (aerosol can type) Carb Cleaner(with a long nozzle) into the valve (thru the top hole where the screw is supposed to sit and the inlet(hose removed)).

Took me less than 15 minutes to perform the above.

The engine needed a few more cranking(Carb Cleaner should "flood"  the inlet chamber") before ignited.

Worth the time and effort.
