HELP - Turn Signals do not work

Started by Zagato, 04 January 2009, 07:36 PM

My turn signals and hazard lights are not working. The car has a new battery.
Headlights and park lights work fine and the fuses are good. Relays in fuse box work too.

I think there must be something wrong with the indicator switch. But how it affects the hazard lights baffles me as to why.

Need some quick advice as I have class tomorrow.

The relay is likely the problem or one of the ground connections. The turn signal relay is located underneath the steering column. I'll attempt to find when I return from work.

Before doing too much try operating the harzard switch a few dozen times, the contacts oxidize and prevent sufficient current flow for the flasher to flash (looks like a blown lamp to the flasher).

You aren't going to believe it. When I started it up this morning, the flashers suddenly started working. They also seem to work a lot better than before, flashing faster and the 'clock' sound is much clearer.

This car mends itself!

It sounds like there was as bad connection, perhaps the contacts were oxidised?
