Hi,

i need this part for my 350SE W116.
Can anyone tell me what it is, and where to buy one?

Another thing is, when i accelerate the engine fails.
Runs well in low revs, when i put the foot down, it fails every where.
I`d cleaned all the fuel lining and the tank.
Could it be the fuel pump?

Thank`s a lot from Portugal.

Regards
Helder

this is a very unique car - a 350SE with automatic climate control ?

Whats the VIN of this car?

Any chance of a closer picture ?

IS that device by any chance the auxiliary water pump for the climate control system ?

WHAT is that thing next to the ignition coil - looks like alien technology.

This is a special car.

That's exactly what I thought Rick, a compressor for an air horn. Helder, if you could post a closer picture of the part you are after that would help. Why do you think you need to replace this part? That would also help someone identify it.

Best regards,

Scott

Hi...
Yes, it is the compressor of the air horn.
I will put the vin here.
The part i need to replace is broken, i think it is the water pump, like you`d said.

Thank`s

The part i need, is the auxiliary water pump. ( OEM 0008356964)
I saw them on ebay at 69,99$, but the shipping costs to Portugal are 225$!!!!
I will try to find one here, on a BOSCH dealer.

many of us are under the impression that auto climate control was only standard on USA cars.. 350SE's werent sold there, are you sure its not really a 450? thats why i was curious about the VIN ;)

The ACC was an option on euro spec cars.

Well maybe it was here at one point, but it was not originally delivered/manufactured in South Africa because it is LHD and ACCII equipped.

The VIN is 116 028 620 164 02

This gets more and more interesting!!!

116 = series type
028 = sub-type (350SE)
6 = RHD CKD assembled unit (in the 1970's, 6 generally meant East London South Africa plant)
2 = auto transmission
016402 = sequence number.

Is it possible this car was a RHD converted to LHD?  Certainly, if this is an East London CKD car, the ACCII is an absolute first for me.

The sure way to confirm if the car was built in East London is that it will have a CDA number.  The CDA number originally appeared in 2 places

a) adjacent to the VIN number on the firewall
b) on a separate blue and yellow or red and silver aluminium plate rivetted on the radiator support panel.

Hi,

thanks for the info.
I don`t know if the car was converted to left-hand drive.
Now you lmake me think...
Probably they use the papers and the VIN of this south african car, and put it on other chassis!
What do you think?
Looking on the car, there is nothing that points to a conversion.
Probably i have a 450SE, with the papers of a 350SE!  ??? ??? ??? ???

What is the engine number?  That will help to pin it down.

Where can i see the engine number?
I will ask my father to see it.
