HI guys
My headlight switch is getting really tough to turn so I suspect the grease inside must be tar by now  :o
Looks like some contortionist tricks will be involved here. Anybody been there done that?

They are a bit tricky. It might be an idea to remove the instrument cluster for better access. Then you have a multitude of terminals screwed on to the rear which would need to either be labelled or transferred direct onto a replacement.

Thanks Tim that's pretty much what I thought.  I guess trying to do this from below will be murder on your back and doubtful you'll be able to hit all the terminals either from below.  And always fun trying to squeeze my 250lbs frame under the dash ::)

I tried stripping out and cleaning a spare but could not get it back together as it has a spring loaded ball inside plus the cover is kind of sealed on so for the money I would not try and bugger around with it honestly.  I am just swapping it out with a new one.  About 90 bucks I paid on ebay.

Daniel    I did mine some time back and can report the job can be achieved with the engine in situ. !
Yeah, it's a pain..just drop all the underdash panelling, engage an asbestos octopus and off you go!! ::)

Jed

Done and done ;D
Not too bad but not a cake walk either.
Did it from below and the biggest tips are as mentioned to disconnect the battery and clearly label all wire connections.
Amazing difference. Funny how we get used to a certain feel of a component and only after you swap it out you realize how bad it was!
