Hazard/Flasher Relay
« on: 21 August 2020, 01:44 PM »
Hello Everybody,

The turn signal in my 1978 450SEL 6.9 is barely flashing.  I was informed that the relay is faulty.  I want to make sure I do not make a mistake ordering this part.  Would somebody have the MB part number for this relay?  This would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards to all,
Angel

Unplug the relay and the part number is written on it.

Hi,

It should be 0335 200 007

But to be sure, check directly in your car; it’s located right next to the parking break arm under the knee panel to the left of the break pedal (LHD vehicles). If you can’t see it, actuate the blinkers and you can hear it clicking at least one time even if the relay is faulty.

From experience, another thing to check is the hazard red push button. The contacts there tend to get dirty creating therefore the problem you described. They are super easy to remove, disassemble and clean. Worth a try before buying a new relay (hard to find and expensive).

Good luck.

Robert

Dear Robert,

Thank you very much for the feedback and guidance.  The workshop checked the button itself and believe the problem is the relay.  Hopefully, they were diligent.

Best regards and have a nice day,

The part number on the relay I have is the Bosch part number and was trying to find the MB part number to place the order.

Thank you for the feedback.

Hi Angel,

Try this for the MB PN.

A0015449732

https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/0015449732.htm?pn=001-544-97-32-MBZ#

They use to be able to trace the part using the Bosch number in the past.

Cheers

Robert

Dear Robert,

Thank you for taking the time to go into the Pelican Parts and obtain the MB part number for me.  I had seen this number but did not want to make a mistake.  Nervertheless, thank you VERY much!

Best regards and have a nice week,
