Title: g.u.d. filters, any good?
Post by: davestlouis on 13 May 2006, 10:58 PM
All of the air, fuel and oil filters I've bought recently in MB boxes from the dealer have been GUD brand...I had never heard of them until I did a web search this evening.  Any thoughts?

Here in South Africa GUD is probably the best known and most respected aftermarket manufacturer of filters etc.  In my 280SE though I've always used OEM filters from Mercedes for engine oil, transmission, and air filter - and they always supply Bosch.  OEM fuel filters are very expensive here so I've always used GUD for about a third of the price.  NEver had any problems.

I've followed the same philosophy of GUD fuel filters for my 450SL as well.

I started rooting around in all of the filters I've bought in genuine MB boxes from the dealer, a few Mann, the rest are GUD.  I only pay $4 for genuine MB oil filters so I guess I can't complain.
