A couple years ago I was in an accident and totaled out my beautiful 1980 300sd. The car was in pristine condition with a hundred and forty thousand miles on it and I had restored it meticulously over the years and everything worked perfect. Then I rear-ended somebody and this happened.
I had a parts car and I had the core support cut out and welded into the crashed car. took the radiator and AC condenser out of the parts car and had them restored at the radiator shop. Also took the fan, electric fan, headlights bumper Fender hood and grill from the parts car. the crash may not have looked that bad but man it was a tedious job getting the car back together. anyway look at the after pictures I still need to do some painting but it looks great and everything works perfect again.
Great job! Too many people would have junked it just because of a little body damage.
I had way too much time and effort in the car to junk it. the dash on the car had actually come out at one point and some of the vacuum pods have been replaced. That's really the point of no return in a restoration. Wouldn't want to have to do that on another car.
Congrats on saving your car!
Thanks guys
Almost cried when I saw the crash ppic. Beautiful work! And thank God for parts cars.
Nice job JTwoods! Don't forget to send us pictures after the new paint.

thank you I just got the salvage title recertified as a rebuilt title and its road legal again!
Good work! What did you crash into? I'm guessing yours ended up the cheaper fix
Rear ended someone on the interested during traffic. Just got car back from Paint today.
Awesome :-* it is a great feeling to get back in possession after a negative event and admire the new paint and panels. Enjoy!
Which engine are you running in her?

That"s so much better! I sure hope I will never have to see that happen to my car, but it's a comfort to see stuff can be fixed. -at a cost. Well done!
Ooops, it's a 300D ::) saw a bit of the engine and thought it was a V8, are those motors slanted?
