Euro warning triangle conversion
« on: 11 June 2020, 10:24 PM »
Hi guys
I have the folding style warning triangle with the vinyl flap and in pretty rough shape.
How easy is it to convert to the Euro style which clips to the trunk lid? Seems like getting the bracket is the main issue?
Cheers

Assuming all the holes are there, you just need the locking wheel and two rubber blocks  that the feet of the triangle fit into.

Hmmm, I am guessing the W116 has a unique locking wheel, looking a the 4x mounting holes in the trunk lid ???

Looked at the W123 wheel and the plastic mount looks more like "hooks", whereas the W116 looks to have "button" type mounts to push in.  Odd that there is such a big difference between the 123 and 116 on this, no?

That'd be great thanks Dave, as usual I am being perplexed by a seemingly very obvious thing ???  If you can show how the mount attaches to the trunk lid, it looks like it's a 2 piece design, the EPC not very clear.

Daniel, on my car there are 3 mounting points.  There's a rotating lock at the top.  Then there are 2 rubber mounts on the bottom for the triangle feet.  these are sandwiched between the trunk deck and the trunk frame.  There are 2 small holes in the frame that hold them in place.  You can see the little tabs on the mounts protruding from the trunk frame in the last pic.  It's not clear to me how the top mount is mounted.  Figuring it out would be a little project.  Hope this helps.   :-\
