Low mileage and few owners don't replace regular maintenance, and good substance.
If it was parked outside for many years (last registered in 1991), and only recently dry stored, you can expect it to be a proper rust bucket.
Also, it's a very low-spec, all manual 280SE. Only the gearbox works in its favour. A good parts car for well under 1000EUR, maybe.

660,000 km isn't low mileage, (372,822 miles)  it's not a complete car, and it shows signs of many hidden problems.  Even if it were a low mileage car it still looks like it has nearly half a million miles in it.   Notice the rear floor carpets are darker.....that's probably because they're wet or used to get wet often.  That coupled with what PTASHEK has already stated, and you have a car worth it's weight in scrap or a little more.

I realize that W116 cars in the U.S. are very inexpensive to buy compared to other markets, and often times people will give them away because they're such a hard model to sell.  However, i think value based on condition is a worldwide understanding among enthusiasts regardless of current regional values.  In this particular case, the pictures themselves tell the whole story.

It's a typo - the car is listed with 66k, not 660k.
I doubt the M110 would survive that kind of mileage.

That has to be the absolute roughest, ragged out car I've ever seen to have only 60,000 km on it.  What a shame.

You need to see the inside of the thing. Usually they are super rusty inside.

Thanks Peter, I bumped into this ad a few days ago.
Was tempted, coz it's special alright.
But, my cars are both fitted with German-language based goods.
I'll have to pass.

Thanks for thinking of me. I always want to hear about such things, if you see anything out of the ordinary!
