That would make this ebay deal interesting enough, with left/right available in 1 go, maybe even at a discount. No way that such a custom-job at cabrio.de would be better or cheaper, and steenbuck.. these guys are not at all helpful or willing to handle foreigners.

UTn_boy

And don't forget that Cabrio.de, GAHH,  AND Steenbuck use the wrong leather, too.  However, GAHH will sew together seat kits from materials you supply to them.  GAHH products fit like a glove, so I always send my leather and material to them for sewing.

The M-110 engines used an R-210.  I'm sure this would work, but may not take as much refrigerant as the system originally called for.  Remember, all of the nomenclature means something.  In "R-210", the "R" means that the compressor has suction on the right side, the "2" means it's a 2 cylinder, and the "10" means it's displacement is 10 cubic inches.  The biggest thing to make sure of is that the suction and discharge ports are on the correct side.

This particular compressor has flange type fittings on top in which a hose connects sideways to.  The m-110 compressors have O-ring type fittings in which the A/C lines connect from the top.  Obviously, fitment of the lines will not be what it's supposed to be, and not possible unless additional 90 degree fittings are found.

So can the diamond shaped "flange" fittings be removed from another 209 compressor and mounted on this one?

I think UTn_Boy should move to Taiwan.

I think me and my cars are going to move to Knoxville so I can get his expertise in person!

No, Jed.  The flange type fittings bolt to the head of the compressor, and the Tube-O, or O-ring type, fittings that our M-110 engines use are made into the head of the compressor itself.  Cylinder heads aren't interchangeable, either, as the reed valve plates are different.

Jed and Stan, thank you for the kind words, but I won't fly, and real estate is cheap here in Knoxville...often with lots of land, too!  ;)

UTn_boy,

Sorry, but don't mean to beat a dead horse.
My blown compressor is pictured below. ('67 300sel M189) Can I remove the flange fittings from my compressor and simply screw them onto the ebay one above?  I think they are both 'flange' type fittings.
I really hope so because I bought the ebay one  :o

I haven't been to knoxville in 25 years...drove down for a football game back when I was at Vandy, we lost of course...great town. Lots of fun!
Ill be back in Nashville next month...looking forward to it!

Ah ok.  I see what you're asking.  As long as they're both flange types, then yes. Though, the M-189 also used 210, not a 209. Let us know if it fits ok.  I'll be curious.

Blue ignition cables, matching the original M110 wire set color.
I have the originals from MB, and these look exactly the same..
