     Easiest way to screw spark plug wires onto distributor cap ?   ;)
   Why are there threads on a distributor cap ???   ???   :o   ???

They're not threads.  They're knurles.  The wires push on, and in doing so you hear/feel the little "clicks" as the wire is pushed on.  The same applies to the spark plugs.  If noting matches up, then you've bought the wrong parts.
