Diff ratios

Hi all,
Does anyone know what the standard diff ratios are for the 280 SE and the 450 SEL, please?
Also, do the ratios differ between countries?
I know the 6.9 is 2.65:1 but I don't know the other two.

Thanks very much for the info.

I wonder how a 6 cylinder diff (3.69:1) would go in a 6.9? (Over the 1/4 mile)
Would it blowup fast or last a while, or would the 450 be better? (3.06)
It would be great to have a lower diff ratio for drag racing.

Not sure what the damage would be on a 3.69 diff behind some M100 power .

On a similar note...does anyone know how to change the speedometer's reading to accomodate a differential swap?

I think I asked this question a while ago, but never really got an answer. I know that later M-B's with electronic speedos require you to change the speedo head, and that most American cars with mechanical speedos have drive and driven gears for the speedo cable that can be replaced with ones with different teeth counts to adjust to the differential, but I don't know how it can be done on early M-B's with mechanical speedos...

Thanks!

If you want a really short diff, the 280S had an even shorter ratio than the 280SE.  I shall inspect my spare 280S diff to ascertain its ratio.
