clock replacement

The original clock (not tacho combo) in my 450 W116 SEL has died and I was given a tacho and clock combo out of a 280 SE W116 which works well but I'm not sure if the tacho would work in the 450. There is no wiring for the tacho but I could possibly sort that out if it is suitable. Any thoughts? The original clock I replaced the capacitors but still no go sadly.

Shouldn't be a problem its on the wiring diagram although I think you will need the euro version.

Hi Pete,

a tacho from a 280se (with 6 cylinders) will give misreadings when used on an engine with 8 cylinders.
And the red area will not match of course.
