Cigarette lighter stuck, not ejecting.

Evening,
My ciggie port works, I think.
It heats up (i can feel the heat on the unit), it then pops out, and then it's in removable. I can't twist or turn if, or pull it to get it out.

Thoughts?

You can best figure this out on the bench.  The ash tray unit has some "teeth" grabbing the lighter as you push it in.  As the lighter warms up the teeth release to make it pop back up.  Might need to tweak it a bit and also see if indeed the unit is getting red hot.
