You will also find the cost of genuine M-B Hydraulic oil is quite expensive $50+ per litre at Diesel motors. A 6.9 takes 6 litres.
Bill

Imparts sells it for around $10/lt, and others also have it, so it is available much cheaper than Bill is paying.

Hi Craig - I only purchased 1 litre for top ups - I have a new filter but haven't got to the oil change yet.

?Will Autohaus fly fluids internationally?

Bill

CraigS

Good question. John Olson I think says he ships internationally, but you might want to check with him. I have his email address if you need it. His price is USD 39.90/gallon (3.68lt) including US shipping.

Another one you might like to look at/for is Aeroshell Fluid 41.

I remember reading somewhere that Penrite does Hydraulic suspension oil so emailed them to sus it out:

Hi Folks, do you make the oil that is used in the Mercedes hydraulic Self Leveling Suspension used on the 70s and 80s model Mercs. I remember someone on a forum saying you do. Cheers

Dear Julian,

Thank you for remembering Penrite Oil.

The oil we recommend for the Mercedes is the MB15 Levelling Fluid.

All the best.

Has anyone here used this stuff??  This is the info link:            http://www.penrite.com.au/files/JFUQAWCSSM/MB%2015.pdf

I looked at some info on the AeroShell 41 stuff, they say it should be used only on synthetic seal systems  :-\, found a link to that to:

There are two types - a synthetic and a mineral.

AutohausAZ says they do not ship overseas for fluids, there goes that cheesy grin :'(

MB Spares inform they sell the SLS fluid for $19.05 a liter at the shop.

Hi Goldacre,

You should be able to get the Pennrite MB-15 levelling fluid ordered in at Repco, that's what I have done.

I use the Penrite MB-15.

$12/litre from my local Euro car mechanic.  Even less if you buy it straight from Penrite in Melbourne.  Flash them your CAMS-affiliated car club membership card and even get a discount on the wholesale price.

Have used it for years on my previous 6.9
