Bonnet Release Cable Sourcing Down Under

Evening, I am amidst another decent job on the car (exhaust leak, steering coupler). And I figure, whilst I wait for parts, I may as well order some other stuff that I need too.

My bonnet release cable is tightened as far as it goes, and it is difficult to release. I want to replace it before it karks it and revokes my engine privileges.

I found a few places that ship to AUS, the majority cost $126 Which is not fantastic but ok.

I found this place $40 - Turkish Supplier "Kaplan".
They seem to also manufacture BMW parts too. Is this place dodgy? They are quite a bit cheaper and I'd rather that over other places.

Sometimes you get lucky with a NOS on ebay for not too crazy $$$$.

I would go genuine if possible.  Its something you will never need to replace again in your time, and the effort to replace it with a cheaper part would be annoying if you find an aftermarket one is rubbish.  Also if it fails when closed, it will require the old busty busty of the plastic grill to release it!

I buy from the classic centre but pelican parts is fine

You reckon NOS is alright? Im just worried the grommet rubber will be too frail and the cable might be really dry.

Nah trust me a 40 year old NOS original Benz part is waaaay superior to the newly made garbage today.  Even the rubber is still fresh as Benz put a coating on all their rubber parts from the factory.
